Fiorentina are forced to start again after Emiliano Mondonico’s resignation,
but their form was just beginning to turn around. The Viola had not scored on
their travels before the 2-2 draw at Udinese this weekend, although they are
too reliant on Fabrizio Miccoli to score – as he has netted three out of the
total four goals this season
While the club searches for a new tactician, Sergio Buso will act as
caretaker manager for this trip to the Stadio Granillo. Sebastian Cejas and
Christian Rigano are still sidelined, but the new man in charge could give
Javier Portillo a rare start in place of the so far ineffective Hidetoshi
Nakata.
Reggina would love to see the Japanese international start in a media-friendly
clash with their own Shunsuke Nakamura. Paredes comes into midfield to replace
the suspended Mozart, but it’ll be tough going for Fiorentina, as the Amaranto
have a strong home record.
