Javier Portillo is hopeful that the New Year will provide him with more
regular first team football at Fiorentina.

The on-loan striker from Real Madrid arrived in Tuscany over the summer but
he’s taken his time to settle.
這位被皇馬出租的前鋒，在去年夏天來到了FIO，但他花了許多時間來適應這裡。
However, his first Serie A goal for the club in their last match of 2004
against Chievo has renewed his confidence.
然而，藉著在Chievo對戰中攻入在義甲的首粒進球，他找回了自信。
"I’m happy that I ended the year with a good performance and a goal," said
the Spanish youngster.

lead the Viola into Europe."

Much was expected of Portillo following his arrival, but both Emiliano
Mondonico and now new boss Sergio Buso seemed to have their doubts.

"It wasn’t easy to be left out for so long," he added. "Even if it is only
right that the Coach makes the decisions.

"I don’t know if I will start against Atalanta on Thursday but I’m hungry
to appear and do well again.
