Fresh from his Italian international hat-trick, now Fiorentina expect Luca
Toni to take that form with him to Messina for today’s Serie A test.
剛在國家隊上演帽子戲法的Toni，FIO希望他在今天與Messina比賽中有相同的狀態。
“Toni is happy at his achievements, but also realises that this only
increases the responsibility on his shoulders,” said Coach Cesare Prandelli.
“He has the inner balance to stay calm and not let himself get depressed if
something should go wrong. He is a model professional.”

It will be an important trip for the former Palermo star, who played against
Messina in the local derbies last season, but now he must help Fiorentina
overcome their notoriously poor away record.

“We’ll have to put in a great performance, because Messina are very
organised and play good football,” warned the tactician. “I think that last
year they were the real surprise on a par with Cagliari. We have studied them
and tried to work out where to hurt this side.”

There is a fitness worry among the Fiorentina ranks, as Under-21
international Giampaolo Pazzini is a doubt.

“Pazzini has a slight muscular problem, possibly due to the long trip back
from Belarus midweek, but he has undergone training and is part of the squad.

Fiorentina got off to a good start with their 2-1 win over Sampdoria, but
replicating that form away from home has been a problem in the past.

“We must do better than that opening game, seeing as we nearly conceded an
equaliser in the closing stages. The side needs to work on its mistakes and
try to avoid repeating them.”
