Cesare Prandelli believes Fiorentina can maintain third place with a victory
away to Ascoli and is considering a change of tactics with Riccardo Montolivo.

“It could be Montolivo’s time to start and we tested this out during
training, but everyone needs to be ready for this tactic to work,” noted the
Coach.

“Riccardo would return to his natural role supporting a lone striker. We are
both mentally and physically strong right now and need to change our system,
but I don’t want to rip everything up and start again.”

Former Atalanta man Montolivo, an Under-21 international, would take on the
same supporting role that Stefano Fiore took in the 2-0 victory at Siena.

Prandelli admits he is curious to see how playing behind closed doors – for
Ascoli’s home ban – will affect the side.

Ascoli are still unbeaten on home turf, managing three wins and two draws,
while Fiorentina have won two on their travels, drawn one and lost two.

earned promotion,” continued Prandelli. “The club is based on solid ideas
