The two players are currently in co-ownership deals with the Viola, as 50 per cent of Pasqual’s contract belongs to Arezzo and the same situation is in place with Ternana for Jimenez. Negotiations to reach an agreement over where they’ll be playing next season have failed, according to violanews.com. It’s claimed the Tuscan outfit does not intend to cough up the previously agreed ?1.7m to complete Italian international Pasqual’s move. On the other hand, Ternana are said to be unhappy with the unspecified offer to buy out Chilean midfielder Jimenez. This is good news for Juventus, who were tracking Pasqual’s progress with interest and allegedly ready to buy out Arezzo’s half of his ownership. If clubs are unable to agree terms in a co-ownership deal, then the matter goes to a ‘blind auction.’ Here both sides make an offer in a sealed envelope and the highest figure wins the player. The Viola have bitter memories of this system, having lost several players this way last summer, including Fabrizio Miccoli. Fiorentina are also continuing to reinforce the side ahead of the Champions League preliminary round and it’s reported they have a deal in place for Vicenza-owned goalkeeper Vlada Avramov, who spent this term on loan at Pescara.
