The Tuscan club had been following Inter's Victor Obinna, but President Massimo Moratti made it clear that he would not let the player move to Florence after his quarrels with chief Diego Della Valle. The Gigliati therefore focused on the signing of the 21-year-old Osvaldo, who started his career with Huracan. The Argentine moved to Atalanta in 2005, making three appearances and scoring once, before joining Lecce on loan last term where he netted eight times in Serie B. Sporting director Pantaleo Corvino finalised the player's move on Monday after reaching an agreement with his counterpart Carlo Osti and the player's agent Dario Recoud. Fiorentina, who are in this season's UEFA Cup, will pay the Orobici ￡2m, while Osvaldo has penned a five-year deal.
