The 22-year-old is making waves in Germany and is one of the nation’s hottest attacking talents. A key member of Die Roten’s Bundesliga winning side last term, Gomez has become a regular figure in the national side and was named German Footballer of the Year 2007. As Gomez is under contract until 2012, Stuttgart insist that he is not for sale, but it seems unlikely that the club will be able to prevent him leaving. Armin Veh’s side have seen their Champions League adventure turn to a nightmare and can’t even grab a spot in the UEFA Cup as they are without a point in Group E. To make matters worse, the German champions are languishing in ninth and it seems that Gomez won’t stay at the Gottlieb-Daimler Stadion unless he is guaranteed Champions League football next term.
