[傳聞] Viola step up Gila efforts

There are reports that Fiorentina are moving forward in their bid to lure
Milan outcast Alberto Gilardino to the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
It has been a miserable season for Gila, who has been banished to the
sidelines due to the arrival of Alexandre Pato and the resurgence of Pippo
Inzaghi.
The 25-year-old was seen as one of Italy's greatest striking prospects when
he arrived at San Siro from Parma for nearly ￡19m in 2005, but now he needs
to re-launch his career.
Fiorentina many be headed for the Champions League and are looking to find a
reliable strike partner for the inspirational Adrian Mutu.
With Giampaolo Pazzini prone to misfiring and Christian Vieri likely to
leave, Gila could be the man for the job.
Gilardino would relish the chance to play under Coach Cesare Prandelli, who
acted as his mentor at Parma, where he scored 23 goals in 34 games at the age
of 21.
The Piedmont native is also well acquainted with Mutu, as he played alongside
him at Verona between 2000 and 2002.
The Viola are reportedly willing to table a bid in the region of ￡10m – a
fee that Milan would be likely to accept for a man who has slipped down the
pecking order.
Gilardino would have to accept a significant pay cut from the ￡2.8m per year
he nets at Milan, but it may be a small sacrifice in order to take on a fresh
challenge.
