OFFICIAL: Fiorentina & West Ham Swap Savio Nsereko & Manuel Da Costa
Fiorentina have brought in attacking midfielder Savio Nsereko from West Ham
United in exchange for defender Manuel Da Costa, as confirmed by their
official media outlet Viola Channel.
Nsereko moved to the Premier League just last winter from Serie B outfit
Brescia, but had trouble settling in and has returned to Italy. The player,
who has represented Germany at the youth level, has been touted as a future
star by many pundits.
In a similar situation, Da Costa, despite success in his career at both Nancy
and PSV, failed to make an impact in Italy with the Viola or in a short loan
spell with Sampdoria last season. The 23-year-old will be hoping to get back
on track under coach Gianfranco Zola with the Hammers.
The swap deal is a permanent transfer for both players. This summer's
transfer window closes on September 1.
