Crosby sits
A's third baseman Eric Chavez emerged victorious in his crusade to get Bobby Crosby a day to rest.
Bothered by a strained thigh muscle since his return from the disabled list May 30, Crosby had to leave Friday's game in the seventh inning after an eventful night on the bases, and afterward Chavez said he'd encourage Crosby to take Saturday off.
Turns out, Crosby didn't have to make the decision.
"I was in the trainer's room [checking on Crosby], and Chavy was giving me this," Macha said, sliding his finger across his throat.
Crosby did not start, and he might not play Sunday, either. The A's have Monday off, creating a potential three-day window of inactivity.
