Sure, he left us for money reasons, but everybody does. He is a perfect "Moneyball" player, and I personally would welcome him back with open arms. I love Jack Cust, too, but he's not Giambi. I've gotten several e-mails about this, and you're one of the few folks who say they'd welcome Giambi back, but you're absolutely right about him being a good fit with the A's. And everyone in Oakland, from the front-office people to the players to the clubhouse staff, loved the guy. The problem is that with Dan Johnson looking like he's turned his career back around, and with Daric Barton almost sure to be ready for the big leagues by next season at the latest, the A's have quality, inexpensive options at first base and DH.
