Fastball movement: Throws pretty straight four-seamers and tends to elevate the ball without a lot of life. Slider: Power slider gets up to 86 mph. Changeup: Will flash an average changeup, but he might be a two-pitch guy in the future. Control: His command is average in the zone. He'll throw strikes, but not always where he wants to throw it. Poise: Appears to be a good competitor and battler on the mound. Physical Description: Dyson has a strong lower half and a Trevor Hoffman-type build. Medical Update: Sat out his freshman season due to a torn labrum in his shoulder, and there was some concern that he's not 100 percent now. Strengths: Flashes two plus power pitches in his fastball and slider. Weaknesses: Struggles with command at times and he's got an injury history that might be of concern. Summary: Dyson was a pretty hot prospect in high school, sliding to the 19th round because of his strong commitment to South Carolina. He redshirted his freshman season due to a torn labrum and was brought back slowly a year ago. This season was meant to be his coming-out party and it's been a mixed bag. At times, he's flashed two plus pitches in his fastball and slider, but the stuff and his command have been inconsistent and his results have followed suit.
