Including the A's. If he signs elsewhere, the A's will receive a compensatory draft pick. Because Duchscherer is a Type B free agent, the A's would get a sandwich pick after the first round. One reason to accept arbitration is a lack of interest elsewhere. That's not the case, his agent, Damon Lapa, told The Chronicle, who added, "With the number of clubs interested in Justin, we didn't want to close the door with the Oakland A's or anyone else."
