84.Kohler hasn't done a lot of pitching until the last two high school seasons,
something done by design to keep his arm fresh. It seems to be paying off, as
the projectable left-hander was getting attention for his three-pitch mix and
his loose, easy arm.
Kohler will touch 90 mph with his fastball, but there could be more in the
tank. He mixes in a downer curve and a fairly deceptive changeup to give him
two secondary pitches that should be at least Major League average.
Projectability, size and pitching know-how is usually a combination that leads
to plenty of Draft day interest.

A projection lefty, Kohler has touched 92 mph with his fastball this spring
while generally working at 88-90. He had a strong showing at the 2012 PG
National Showcase where he did a good job of working ahead in the count and
staying around the strike zone with his fastball. He's had some ups and downs
against quality competition, but he's flashed the kind of ability that should
draw some strong draft interest. His curveball shows good depth at times, and
his changeup flashes life to the arm side, though he's still developing feel
for both pitches.
