All three have come at U.S. Cellular Field. The White Sox became the first tea m to turn three triple plays in a season since the A's and Red Sox turned thre e each in 1979. Friday's triple play started with runners on first and second in the third wit h Freddie Freeman facing Chris Sale. Freeman hit a sinking liner to shortstop Tim Anderson, who trapped the ball and tagged Chase d'Arnaud, who was moving b ack toward second, before stepping on second to force Gordon Beckham and throw ing to first to nail Freeman. The season's first triple play for the White Sox began with a Mitch Moreland l ine drive to right fielder Adam Eaton with the bases loaded. It resulted in a 9-3-2-6-2-5 on the scoresheet. George Springer's grounder in the eighth on May 18 ignited the action against the Astros with Tony Kemp on second and Jose Altuve at first.Todd Frazier star ted the around-the-horn triple play on a ground ball that took him right towar d third base.
