In Italy, the stadiums are owned by the city councils and rented out to clubs, but Udinese were refusing to pay what they claimed were “exorbitant” fees to use the Stadio Friuli. They had threatened to switch their home games to Verona's Stadio Bentegodi for this term and suspended the season ticket sales until the matter was sorted out.
