Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini said the Sicilian derby riots
were “a defeat for football.”
The Rosanero won 2-1 at Catania's Stadio Massimino last night,
but the game was followed by rioting that saw a policeman killed.
“I consider those who go to the stadium to have fights to be delinquents
and nothing more,” noted Zamparini.
Zamparini：「我將那些來球場打架的人視為違法者，僅止於此。」
“I have said since the moment I arrived at Palermo that if there were any
serious incidents inside the stadium, I would immediately leave the club.”
「自我接手 Palermo我就說過，如果有任何嚴重的意外在體育場內發生，
我就會立刻離開這家球會。」
The northern businessman had been in charge of Venezia when he decided to
invest in Palermo, pumping cash into the Serie B side and taking them to
their first promotion in 30 years.
Zamparini本是 Venezia的老闆，當他決定投資在 Palermo身上，
就砸了大錢把球隊從義乙帶上闊別三十年的甲級聯賽。
The Rosanero are now in third place and had played in
the UEFA Cup this season.
Palermo現在聯賽排名第三，本季也在歐洲聯盟盃出賽。
“Nobody won tonight. It was a defeat for football and for all of us.
At this moment, my heart goes out to the family of that poor man.”
「今晚沒有人贏，這是足球與我們全體的一場敗仗，
此刻我的心只為那位可憐人與他的家人。」
The Palermo fans and the entire squad was kept inside the Massimino
for several hours after the final whistle, as Catania supporters
continued to clash with the police.
Palermo球迷跟球隊全體在終場哨聲後被留在球場裡好幾個小時，
Catania球迷持續在球場外跟警方對幹。
It was there that a homemade bomb was thrown into the car of
38-year-old Chief Inspector Filippo Raciti.
就是在那時候有土製炸彈都丟進了３８歲總督察 Filippo Raciti的車內。
“We weren't told anything, we just had to stay in the locker room
and wait for news,” explained Coach Francesco Guidolin.
主教練 Guidolin：「我們什麼也不知道，我們只能在更衣室等待消息。」
“If we don't get it into our heads that football is a sport,
then we really won't have room to breathe. What happened here
offends sport and a beautiful, civilised city like Catania.”
「如果沒出這等事，這就還是足球，這裡發生的事冒犯了體育，
以及像卡塔尼亞這樣美麗與文明的城市。」
