Per Brian Walton at the Birdhouse,
it looks like Sean Danielson will the the PTBNL for Joel Pineiro.
That’s a relief. Best of luck to Danielson and all,
but if he gets any length of playing time in Boston I’d be shocked.
Maybe the Red Sox are trying to appease karma after they allowed
David Eckstein to be claimed on waivers from the Angels moons ago.
Pineiro was a welcome addition in a miserable rotation,
though there is some flukiness with his performance.
With this upcoming free agent class looking historically bad,
his $ 4 M option is looking like a good bargain.
