The Germany captain has been in fine fettle on the field this season, but Chelseawanted to ask about his plans for the future and whether a move into management could be on the cards, given his obvious leadership skills. 'I think it's important that players take responsibility - in Germany we say fuhrungsspieler,' he explains. 'It's a little bit strange but in Germany they like to say this! 'Every player can do this and the more that do it, the better it is for the team. 'I play in a position where there's a lot of things going on and everything goes through midfield.' It is obvious the 33-year-old is enjoying life at Stamford Bridge after a frustrating campaign last season, in which injuries and changes of manager took their toll. 'It helped that I had a good break this summer,' he says. 'This is unusual for me as it's usually a lot shorter because of the World Cup and stuff like this. So it was my first time I had five weeks and I could really feel the difference. 'Maybe I was a little but unlucky last year but now it looks like I'm coming back to scoring goals, which is a big strength of mine. 'Every year I feel much more at home, I've adapted really well and I feel more comfortable and relaxed,' he continues. 'In this period I've learned more about my team-mates better and we've grown together. You spend more free time with them so you know each other better. Most of the players are together for a long time and you can feel this, there's a good mentality in the group.' Such a tight-knit atmosphere certainly helps bring results on the pitch, but of course the new manager has certainly helped things along.
