The Brazilian defender who honed his skills in the Netherlands, home of total football, insists the Blues have emulated his own country on the pitch since the season began. 'The way we have been playing, I'd liken us to Brazil,' reports the defensive stalwart in this month's cover feature. 'Brazilian teams have the same mentality. They just want to attack.' Alex goes on to describe how his game has changed since arriving from PSV Eindhoven and how the attacking mindset was instilled into his style. That doesn't mean the man no longer defends, as we see whenever he dons the shirt: 'In Brazil they don't think too much about defence, it's all about attacking,' adds Alex.
