FIRST SOCCER SCHOOL IN ASIA

Chelsea are launching a new Soccer School in Hong Kong, the first one to
be opened by the club in Asia.
As Chelsea continues our commitment in Asia, youngsters in Hong Kong will
benefit from football sessions provided by experienced coaches and former
footballer Leslie Santos (pictured), who is currently ambassador for the
Hong Kong 2009 East Asian Games.
Chelsea chief executive Ron Gourlay said: 'After months of planning it is
fantastic to see this exciting project come to fruition.
'Chelsea Soccer School in Hong Kong will be the perfect venue for
Chelsea's experienced coaches to run training sessions, and for young
people to train the way Chelsea players do.'
Chelsea and England captain John Terry was also pleased with the launch of
our newest Soccer School.
'I was delighted to hear about the Chelsea Soccer School in Hong Kong,'
said Terry.
'Not only will this be used for charity work in the region, it offers the
opportunity for young people to develop their skills and discipline on the
pitch.'
The coaching programme consists of four sessions, each lasting an hour-
and-a-half. Ben Wells, head of marketing at Chelsea, added: 'It is an
honour to be here for the launch of Asia's first Chelsea Soccer School.
'The team in Hong Kong worked hard to deliver a fantastic facility and I
look forward to seeing it adding to players' enjoyment of football.'
