Now he has been on the edge of his seat as the team achieved more in a campaign than ever before. In the first part of a two-part interview he reflects on the season just finished and looks ahead to possible changes to the squad... Firstly, please put your supporter hat on and tell us how the enjoyment of the end of this season compared with others you have experienced such as in 1997 or 2005? 問: 首先告訴我們跟1997和2005比起來，這次奪冠有多開心？ I am not sure 'enjoyment' is the right word. After the last couple of weeks I probably need to have a pacemaker installed. The other Premier League titles that we have won in recent history were from start to finish pretty straightforward, if you can use that word. We were ahead all the time and won those titles in April. It is different with each club's directors but by and large we try to be graceful when we lose, though it is difficult, and so do the other clubs. Buck Lampard And now it is fast forward with thinking for next season? 問: 下個賽季的計畫？ Chelsea Football Club had a board meeting on Monday at Cobham and the board formerly thanked Carlo and his staff and the players for a job well done but it was also pointed out that Monday was the start of the new season. Now in the second half of his interview with the Official Chelsea Website, he speaks about wider changes in top level football… What is your latest thinking on the proposed Uefa regulations on club finances? 問: 關於歐足聯的新財政規定？ Something is going to happen in the next six months. We have looked very closely at the proposed rules and starting now we are going to have to be very careful on transfer fees and in salary renegotiation because having a positive profit and loss statement will be crucial in getting a Uefa licence and participating in the Champions League. There was a carve-out for clubs that have a gross revenue of less than 50 million euro but that has been removed. What I was referring to by one-size-fits-all was that I think personally it is very significantly different if a club gets money from its owner than a club going out and borrowing money from a bank, and I think the rules ought to take account of that. Buck It does seem strange that Uefa wishes to discourage genuine new money being invested into football. 問: 看來歐足聯並不鼓勵足球投資啊？ It seems strange to me also and one of the problems that we see with the current formulation is that it is going to maintain the status quo. In other words, if owners cannot put money into their clubs then it is going to be very difficult for the club that is, say, at the bottom of the Premier League to work its way up to the top, or a club from the Championship to move into a respectable position in the Premier League. Also it is unclear how digital media development will affect live crowds 10 years from now. When you are going to be able to watch the match on your wrist watch, is that not going to impact on attendances? We have a project for that and [chief executive] Ron Gourlay is doing a darn good job with that. But inflation hits us every year and we have to look at ticket prices but I don't see drastic increases ahead. As you can see from the new Premier League television contract it has done very well in this environment. That is a change in the parachute payment structure to clubs that get relegated. We are also going to coordinate a lot of the rules about finance and governance with the Football League to make it more consistent and transparent. In less than a month England, with hopefully several Chelsea players in the side, will kick off their World Cup campaign against the USA.
