Jose Mourinho is preparing to raid his former club once again as he lines up
a €24.5 million bid for Didier Drogba.
Having already lured Ricardo Carvalho away from the Premier League champions,
the Real Madrid manager has targeted his former striker as a player who can
bring attacking experience to the Bernabeu.
Drogba’s agent, Thierno Seydi, who held talks with Manchester City regarding
a possible transfer in July, has not ruled out a move before the transfer
window shuts.
Seydi told The Daily Star: “Until the transfer window closes anything is
possible with footballers.”
Mourinho is keen to bolster his attacking strength as his only striking
options are Karem Benzema and Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain. Presumably,
Drogba is seen as a replacement for Raul, who after 18 years departed Madrid
for German outfit Schalke 04.
Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti has previously said the Ivorian will not be
sold this summer and the striker has also reiterated his desire to stay at
Stamford Bridge.
