http://www.chelseafc.com/page/LatestNews/0,,10268~2370841,00.html IVANOVIC THE MAN IN NEW MAG Posted on: Fri 03 Jun 2011 Branislav Ivanovic is this month's Chelsea magazine cover star, and tells us he never could have predicted the success he has had so far in his career. The defender has been at Stamford Bridge since arriving from Lokomotiv Moscow in January 2008, and has clocked up more than 100 appearances in that time, quickly developing into a fans' favourite for his no-nonsense attitude and tendency to score important goals at the other end. Acknowledging his low-key entrance to English football, Ivanovic believes that once he crossed the white line, he became no different to any of Chelsea's high-profile signings of recent years. 'The situation is different for us when we arrive without a big name, but the aim is the same for all the players. We all give everything for the team and try to win every game - it doesn't matter where you come from or who you were when you arrived here, you have the same aim as every other player,' says the Serbian. http://www.chelseafc.com/javaImages/a5/41/0,,10268~9716133,00.jpg
Ivanovic in Chelsea magazine 'If you come here and already have a name, you have to show that you deserve this reputation. The aim is actually the same - you have to deserve to be on the pitch. 'Three points is still three points no matter who you are. Chelsea win or lose based on how well we play - everyone here knows this. Here we have a fantastic squad, but we all give everything for the team. we all come here by a different way, but we want the same things as a team.' Ivanovic's route to the top has certainly been unusual, taking in OFK, Serbia's oldest side before a transfer to Russia where he excelled with Lokomotiv. His and others' moves to western Europe have reflected the opening up of the former Yugoslavia, yet the 27-year-old believes it will be some time before kids in the region swap their love of local sides for Chelsea or Manchester United. 'I don't think it has changed the kids' dreams yet,' he says. 'Because they are Serbian, their parents give them their first love - the support for Red Star or Partizan. I think all kids, when they start to play football, are thinking of one day playing for Red Star or Partizan. This is the big motivation that everyone imagines - coming onto the pitch for these teams in front of a full stadium. 'This is the first thing, but of coure later every kid thinks about Chelsea, Real Madrid or Barcelona. I think it would be looking too far to dream about that when you are very small though.' Luckily for him, and for us, he made it to the Premier League though, and will be building his reputation at the Bridge for another five years having committed to a new contract earlier this year. Elsewhere in July's issue of Chelsea, we take a look back at the Player of the Year awards with goalkeeper and first-time winner Petr Cech, who discusses his pride at joining an elite list of former winners. Kerry Dixon, our second-highest scorer of all time, is not on that list despite his firm place in Chelsea legend. He discusses why with another former favourite, Pat Nevin. http://www.chelseafc.com/javaImages/a3/41/0,,10268~9716131,00.jpg
Anelka in Chelsea magazine Back with the present squad, Fernando Torres is the subject of this month's Did You Know and Nicolas Anelka presents his Photo Album. If that wasn't enough there is also a catch-up with England rugby hero and massive Chelsea fan Lawrence Dallaglio, all for the regular price of £3.25. Chelsea is available now from all good newsagents and the Chelsea Megastore. -- http://jamescaesar.pixnet.net/album/photo/110781933 永遠以摸過它為榮 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 114.47.9.247
