The tie is to be played the weekend of 7 and 8 January. Gianfranco Zola pulled our ball out of the bag and the tie, which is a repeat of the 2010 FA Cup Final, is to be played the weekend of 7 and 8 January. The south coast club currently lie 18th in the Championship and recently appointed Michael Appleton as their manager following the departure of Steve Cotterill to Nottingham Forest. Former Chelsea player Tal Ben-Haim is in the Portsmouth squad. The clubs have played three other games in the competition in addition to our triumph two seasons ago. Chelsea won a quarter-final at Fratton Park on the way to lifting the trophy in 1997 and Portsmouth knocked us out after a replay back in 1929.
