The captain of the Chelsea side that won the FA Youth Cup last season netted in the second half of the match in Estonia, just four minutes after opponents Croatia had taken the lead. Seventeen-year-old Chalobah is the sole Chelsea player at the tournament and played in midfield. His side came under pressure in the first half but were much improved after the interval, hitting the bar and having a shot blocked on the line. However Croatia took the lead against the run of play on 56 minutes before Chalobah scored with a shot into the top corner from just inside the area. England were the more likely to find a winner but had to settle for a point. They now play Serbia on Friday who were beaten 3-0 by France in the other opener in Group B. Chalobah was again in midfield for a match against Serbia and after England had taken an early lead, the Chelsea youth product had a good header very well saved. A second goal came just after the hour but Serbia had been testing opponents throughout and made the score 2-1 with 20 minutes to go, scoring directly from a corner. However Noel Blake's young England side saw out the game comfortably and are on four points with a match against group leaders France, who have six points, to come. Serbia in third have a single point and the top two sides go into the semi-finals. In the second group of the tournament in Estonia, Portugal and Spain both have four points after they drew. Greece are a point behind. The match was a final group game in the tournament held in Estonia with last season's FA Youth Cup-winning captain playing the full game as England Under-19s won 2-1, all the goals coming in the first half. Everton's John Lundstram put England ahead from distance after quarter-of-an-hour with Tottenham's Harry Kane scoring the winner five minutes before half-time after the French had equalised eight minutes earlier. Many of the players in the game remained from a meeting between these nations at Under-17 levelin 2010 when England won on the way to becoming European champions, and two years further on Noel Blakes's side were solid in the second-half as the French pressed for an equaliser. A point would have been enough for England to reach the semi-finals but the win ensures they finish top of the group with a match against Greece on Thursday standing in the way of a place in the final.
