Chelsea Here, Chelsea There: Gallagher in scoring form for Palace, Broja
nets in record-breaking Southampton win

Conor Gallagher and Armando Broja stand out in our round-up of the action
involving Chelsea players on loan over the last week, with the duo scoring
four goals between them...

Gallagher continued his impressive start to life on loan with Crystal
Palace by scoring their first two goals of the season in another Man of
the Match performance as they drew 2-2 with West Ham United in the Premier
League. Having suffered a Carabao Cup exit at Watford in midweek,
Gallagher made sure Palace salvaged a draw at the London Stadium as he
netted two second-half equalisers, first calmly converting Christian
Benteke's head-down and then beating Lukasz Fabianski with a clever turn
and finish.

Armando Broja made a spectacular introduction to life at Southampton as he
found the net twice on his debut, as the Saints recorded the biggest win
in their history. The striker turned in the rebound after Nathan Redmond
had hit the crossbar to open the scoring just eight minutes into his first
appearance, before adding a second from close range after the break as
Southampton won 8-0 at Newport County in the Carabao Cup. Broja also come
off the bench in their 2-2 Premier League draw at Newcastle on Saturday,
when they equalised with a 96th-minute penalty.

Billy Gilmour and Norwich City are still looking for their first Premier
League points of the season, though. After coming on during their 6-0
thrashing of Bournemouth in the Carabao Cup, the Canaries' tough start to
life in the top flight continued as they had an equaliser disallowed by
VAR in a 2-1 home defeat to Leicester City.

After missing Huddersfield Town's Carabao Cup exit to Everton, Levi
Colwill was back in the starting line-up as the Terriers made it three
wins in a row in the Championship on Saturday. This time their victims
were Reading, as they recorded an emphatic 4-0 home win, with Colwill
playing in a back three that restricted their opponents to just one shot
on target.
Jake Clarke-Salter suffered his first defeat of the season with Coventry
City, as they were beaten 2-0 away at Queens Park Rangers.
Juan Castillo couldn't prevent Birmingham City being eliminated from the
Carabao Cup, playing the full match as they were beaten 2-0 at home by
Fulham.
It was a week of late drama for Henry Lawrence at Wimbledon. First the
versatile full-back came off the bench with their League Cup tie at
Northampton stuck in a goalless stalemate, before the visitors secured a
1-0 win three minutes into injury time. He then played the whole of the
weekend's League One trip to Ipswich, as they went behind to two goals in
three minutes, only to recover and equalise in the fifth added minute.
Jamie Cumming was on the losing side in Gillingham's fiery trip to
Shrewsbury. The visitors took the lead, but Cumming conceded two goals
from crosses in seven second-half minutes, the first a spectacular
overhead kick, before the game descended into chaos in injury time, with a
player from each team being sent off and red cards also being shown to a
Shrewsbury sub and Gillingham's assistant manager.
Emerson helped Lyon to record their first win of the season on his second
start for the club, claiming a 1-0 victory away at Nantes in Ligue 1,
despite ending the game with 10 men. In Turkey, Michy Batshuayi made his
first start for Besiktas, as they continued their unbeaten start to the
season with a 1-0 home win over Fatih Karagumruk.
Karlo Ziger enjoyed a winning start to life in senior football, as he
recovered from conceding an early goal to help Rudar Velenje beat Nafta
3-1 on his debut for the Slovenian side.
Matt Miazga endured a difficult start to life with Alaves, as his first
appearance ended in a 3-0 defeat away at early La Liga leaders Valencia.
