The Sonar festival is one of those all too rare events where we really do get the chance to hear, record and broadcast some new and truly amazing music from across the globe. There's so much music that we never get to hear in the UK and this is the perfect opportunity to showcase World music that sits outside of the more traditional Womad style box. It's no wonder that John Peel liked coming here. OK, there's also the advantage of the sun, Spanish culture and more, but at the end of the day there is nowhere else we could record so many different acts in one place. Which artists are One World recording this year? This year we will have everything from Brazilian electronica to the Vienna Vegetable Orchestra to Japanese Drum n Bass to Danish Bands to Spanish Electro and more - the list this year is huge and yes we are going to find it difficult to squeeze it all into a 2 hour show. We will purposely avoid putting the so called "Big" names into the show - the essence of Sonar to me is the underground and that's where we will be!
