Naturally enough, Barca, are on the scene to pay homage to the Italian star. For Wednesday's game there's a whole host of stars ready to pay homage to the ex-Milan and Barca man and ahead of the "Notte di Stelle" -the night of stars, Albertini spoke exclusively to fcbarcelona.com. How did the idea for the testimonial come about ? "A few months ago w started making a list of the players I'd like to come along, who'd I'd played with during my career. We managed to get them all together and I'm really happy to have organised this kind of thing." And why did you decide to invite Barca ? "For many reasons. It's the team I ended my career with and in the five months I was there I really appreciated the club. I met some great people who always supported me and have always been there for me In addition, Barca has marked my footballing life. There are so many reasons" Tell us then ! "During the five months I was in Barcelona I grew to understand what the club means for the Catalans. So now in my testimonial I also want to think about the Barcelona people - I know what Johan Cruyffs "Dream Team" meant for them and now they are again creating a marvellous team, so I wanted to bring the two together". All those stars, together with Milan's in one game that's a big game. "Just imagine ! Eight Golden Ball winners - Ronaldinho, Shevchenko, Stoitchkov, Van Basten, Papin, Weah, Gullit and Johan Cruyff as manager ! What's more everything we raise is going to charity": A game for nostalgia then "It's curious that players of the new generation like Ronaldinho, who admired players such as Van Basten when they were kids have no got the chance to play with their heroes. I feel a bit like a link between the two generations as I've played with them both". There'll be a lot of memories for you too then ? Yes, I think of Pep, whose career went hand in hand with mine. I'm very excited about the prospects". -- All monies to go to charity Demetrio Albertini and the company Pentagon Advisor, who are organising the testimonial, are especially excited by the game on Wednesday because, as Albertinini explained: "all of the income is going to be distributed to needy charitable organisations through the Fundacion del FC Barcelona, la Fondazione Milan and la Fondazione Opera San Francesco". Demetrio explained to fcbarcelona.com: "I spoke to every player I wanted before I organised the game and explained that it was to be a charity match and I didn't want anybody to feel obliged to come, but rather to feel the same excitement about it as I do.
