Daniela Hantuchova is set to play Fed Cup tennis for Slovakia for the first time in three years. The 22-year-old world number 15 has been called up by captain Mojmir Mihal for next month's Europe/Africa Zone tie against Bulgaria in Plovdiv. She last played in the competition against Germany in April 2003, a year after helping Slovakia win the tournament as a teenager. Since then her country's fortunes have nose-dived, resulting in relegation from the World Group last year, and Hantuchova has been criticised for her continued absence. Mihal told www.tenis.sme.sk: "I spoke with all the players and I came to an agreement with Daniela Hantuchova and I believe she will come to Plovdiv." Secretary general of the Slovak Tennis Association Igor Moska added: "There is no question Daniela Hantuchova is the most important player for us in this tournament. "She will say the last word after her tournament in Miami but she is in a good mood and I think she will play in Bulgaria. She agreed with her nomination so everything should be clear."
