Hawks.com: What has it been like for you since last night when you got picked? Marvin Williams: I'm tired, to be honest. I was up late, till about three, then got up around seven. It was tough to go to sleep because I was so excited, I was up talking to my friends and I was like, “Man, I can’t believe I just got drafted.” So, I am definitely excited. Hawks.com: Has it sunk in yet? MW: I don’t think it has – not yet. I know I need to work more on my game now , but I don’t think it has yet. Hawks.com: How cool was it to see your teammates get drafted so high? MW: It was definitely confirmation of what we did last year. People have been saying all year that North Carolina had the most talent, and I think draft night proved that with us having four guys go in the top 14. Hawks.com: Does it bother you to hear people say how could you get picked so high when you didn’t even start? MW: Yeah, it does. I mean, we won a national championship! I could see if we had lost why people would say that, but we were successful. We won 33 games last year and only lost four. I am not going to change who I am – and I would do it all over again the same way if I had the chance. Hawks.com: Your bio for the NBA Draft says you played soccer for one year in high school. Are you sure you chose the right sport? MW: I tried soccer with one of my buddies. I was like, “If you play, I’ll play” and he said the same thing, and so we went out for the team. How' d you do? MW: I was terrible (laughing). I lettered, but I was terrible. Hawks.com: You said your dad is your favorite player ever. How old were you when you could finally take him? MW: I was about 12. One night we were at the gym late and I was whooping him. I don’t think he liked it too much. There really wasn’t anything he could do about it. Once I grew there just wasn’t anything he could do to stop me, I could just shoot over him. I could dribble a little bit, so that was basically it. (這段讓我想到澤北...XD) Hawks.com: You’ve decided to bring your family with you to Atlanta. Do they still get to tell you what to do? MW: My family really doesn’t tell me what to do. My mom has been great with this. We are all older now, mature, and we know right from wrong, so she pretty much lets us go.
