Injured Nalbandian could miss Olympics
BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP)—David Nalbandian could miss the Beijing Olympics
due a right arm injury. Nalbandian was injured during his first-round loss at
Wimbledon on June 23. He has not ruled out surgery.
Physical therapist Diego Rodriguez was quoted in Friday's editions of sports
newspaper Ole as saying that the seventh-ranked Argentine has started a
recovery program and will only compete again once his arm has healed.
The Olympics are Aug. 8-24.

Nalbandian's future is uncertain
Diego Rodriguez, the physical therapist of the Argentine gave no assurances of
when his return will be. "David has entered a recovery program, and was without
tennis for two weeks without charge in the pubic area and carried out work on
pool and bike. He will only compete again once he is in the condition to do
so," Rodriguez told Olé. In response to the possibility of arriving at one end
and having to resort to an operation which would prevent him from playing until
the end of the year, Rodriguez clarified: "It is one of the options. We will
analyse his physical state medically. To reach this instance would be the
disappointing outcome of conservative treatment. Thus, the return of Nalbandian
in the courts is unknown."
