The Golden State Warriors signed Oregon center Chris Boucher to a two-way cont
ract after he went undrafted, sources told Shams Charania of The Vertical.
This is the first two-way deal to be consummated after the new contractual sti
pulation was made possible in the new collective bargaining agreement. Boucher
will be paid a veteran's minimum contract if he gets called up, but will othe
rwise earn $75,000 in the G-League.
The two-way deal will see his rights held by the Warriors without him taking u
p a spot on the 15-man roster, thereby freeing him up to be stashed for develo
pment without a cost to the big club.
Boucher profiles as a stretch-five that needs to add bulk, since he only weigh
s 200 pounds despite standing at 6-foot-10. He was stellar in two seasons at O
regon, averaging 12 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks in 24.8 minutes per g
ame while connecting on 34.4 percent from deep.
The Warriors also added Boucher's teammate, Jordan Bell, with the No. 38 pick.
