Q: 21 points, 13 assists in Game 6. I appreciate them taki ng a chance on me. I love being a Pacer. There’s nothing like it. This is a rea lly, really special feeling for me. I’ll take the time to reflect on it later b ecause I still have a lot more work to do. But this is really exciting. I’m thankful that I’m doing it with these guys. ’ m thankful our front office believed in this group, kept us together, didn’t do a crazy roster turnover. They saw something in us that maybe, quote-unquote, ex perts didn’t see. So yeah, it’s really special. Made play after play, especially down the stretch—cutting, rolling. T hat’s why we brought him here. A guy like that—his minutes have come here and there in this series, hasn’t really seen a ton of playing time—but he came in and was prepared to go. Thomas Bryant too. He’s had a couple games where he had DNPs. Came prepared, made some big-t ime shots and plays. That’s just what’s important to us. We’ve been preaching how special we are as a group and how much depth matters—and we’re showing it . I do’ t know where Doyle is, but we just didn’t play hard enough. That happens. I tho ught we did a great job responding. Did a great job controlling the margins and winning that battle. I’m really proud of this group. It is special to do it in front of our fans, in front of our family, and enjoy it with them. This will pro bably be a core memory in our lives. But we’ve got a lot more work to do. How important was defense tonight? Andrew, Aaron, and Myles lead that. Me and P try to follow their le ad and get it going on that side of the ball. Our bench guys come in and bring m ore energy. That step we’ve made on that side is why we’re here. We’ve got ou r work cut out for us—playing against the MVP, one of the best offenses in the league, the best team in the league. We’ve got to be prepared. But our buy-in h as been huge. There was never a conversation about playing OKC next or what it would look like. But human nature creeps in—you think about it. Honesty with each other. Looking at ourselves in the mirror and seeing where we had to make changes. A commitment to one another.
