He’s a monster defender with legitimate plus-plus tools in terms of size and length at 6 feet 9 with a 7-foot-4 wingspan and the fluidity to slide his feet laterally. I would bet on him maxing out just below the level of All-Defense, but I don’t think I can completely rule it out if he really decides he wants to be a stopper. I loved the way he slotted into the team concept this year at Michigan and didn’t make things about himself. At times, I’m not sure Lendeborg truly understands how complete his game is and how talented he is. At other times, he would slide down and guard on the block. NBA coaching staffs will be excited to devise different ways to use Lendeborg on that end, as he seemed to embrace turning into a defensive stopper. Averaged 1.7 steals and 1.8 blocks per game at UAB in his fourth collegiate year. At Michigan, he continued to be a disruptive force and averaged 1.1 steals and 1.2 blocks. Has very good hand-eye coordination, and his anticipation is sharp when going to chase the ball. His length allows him to also contest a player’s dribble while staying far enough away to react to his moves as a counter. Always a threat to disrupt a drive. Good at playing in one-on-two situations on the back side. Solid in ball screens playing at the level or switching. Can also get through a screen well for someone his size and has a large margin for error in recovery because of his length. I think Lendeborg profiles more as a positive, versatile defender than a player who will make an All-Defense team, but I can ’t rule out that kind of trajectory, either. That went down to 6.8 rebounds per game this year, but he played a large portion of his minutes at the three next to Aday Mara and Morez Johnson Jr. Averaged over three offensive rebounds per game at UAB and was nearly at two per game at Michigan while crashing from the perimeter. It starts with his jumper, which can be inconsistent but has largely had good results the last two years. He made 35.7 percent of his 3-point attempts (averaged two per game) in his final year at UAB, then this season upped his volume to 4.5 attempts per game and made 37.2 percent of those. It’s pretty easy to envision Lendeborg operating in four-five ball screens with a center where the center has to decide on how to handle it. Has a strong sense of timing. Doesn’t get there often in half-court settings, as we’ll talk about in the next section, but makes the most of his chances there. Also has good touch, and his length gives him some real ability to manipulate the ball in the air if required to get around rim protectors. He’s not particularly shifty with gathers, but he does a nice job using his power to go through the opposition and maintains his balance well enough to finish with both hands. Plays an unselfish style that will translate well at the next level. Averaged 4.2 assists in his last season at UAB and 3.2 assists per game at Michigan. Knows what he’s looking at when surveying the defense. Averaged only 1.1 turnovers per game this season. He knows what he can do and what he can’ t do. You rarely see him try to overextend himself by driving into traffic, or getting into a really problematic area. He used to do that when he was surrounded by less talented players at UAB, but he hasn’t done so for two years. Doesn’t try to make the home run read into tight windows. NBA scouts have also done a good deal of digging into understanding Lendeborg’s maturity level and his habits given his poor high school grades as well as his occasional wild postgame comments. A profanity-laced social media video released before a game against Purdue also raised concerns for scouts. There isn’t a lot of craft or nuance to his gathers or ballhandling. He’s a powerful player and has the tools to be a power player even at the NBA level given his strength, length and shooting ability. It’s all pretty straightforward and based on power in a way that I’m not sure will translate to separating regularly from his man in the NBA, unless a teammate or a ball screen creates an advantage for him. 無球角色:相較於擔任主要持球核心，Lendeborg更適合作為一名無球球員。他的收球腳步以及持球技巧缺乏太多細膩度與變化性。他是一名充滿力量感的球員，而且憑藉自己的力量、身長及投射能力到了NBA依然有成為力量球員的條件。然而，他的進攻方式大多比較直接且依賴身體力量而讓我不太確定他是否能在NBA靠個人能力擺脫防守者，除非隊友先幫他製造優勢或是透過擋拆。 -Lack of rim pressure: Lendeborg does not get to the rim that often as an off-ball wing unless he’s out in transition. Averaged only two shots per game at the rim in half-court settings, with about one-third of those attempts coming off cuts. Made 40.8 percent of his 3s in his first 10 games. Then, made just 17.3 percent of his 3s over his next 14 games. Then made 48.1 percent of his 3s in the next 16 games to close the season. He finished at 37.2 percent on 3s, which is a good number. But he also went through a 16-game stretch when he made just 28 percent of his 3s. Would love to see him iron out the jumper over the next few years. It feels like his rhythm sometimes gets thrown off as he transfers his weight from his lower half to his upper half and releases the ball. His versatile defensive play and ability to play intelligently off the ball as a cutter and passer make it very unlikely that teams will play him off the floor, but it might really reduce the overall impact he’s making. The critical swing skill here is ironing out the jumper to where he’ s making a consistent 37 percent from 3 and not going through wild swings. Can occasionally get clipped by a screen that takes him out of position. Excellent in recovery but could stand to work on how he navigates screens, especially if you see him as something of a three at the next level as opposed to a four.
