Orlando Magic signed center Tony Battie to a four-year, $24.8 million
contract extension.
Magic assistant general manager Otis Smith and vice president of basketball
operations Scott Herring crafted a "V-contract" for Battie, a deal that would
rise in compensation next season, dip dramatically in 2007-08 and then rise
back up over the final two seasons.
Battie, who is making $5.2 million this season while averaging 8 points and
5.7 rebounds a game, will make an average of $6.2 million over the life of
the four-year deal. Next season will pay him almost $7 million and the final
two seasons will top $7 million.
魔術為了讓自己在2007年暑假有更多的薪資運作空間,
因此和Battie簽了這份彈性的V-contract. 這份合約
中第一年和最後兩年年薪各為700萬. 因此07-08球季
只有約300萬.再加上Hill的合約到期,屆時魔術將有
能力去抓市場上的大魚.
我覺得這蠻特別, 不知道這樣的合約是不是首次出現呢?
