由hoopshype節錄出來 Toronto: It's expected the team will announce, perhaps as early next week, that Mauricio Gherardini, the well-respected boss of Benetton Treviso of the top league in Italy, will join Toronto as Colangelo's assistant general manager. Toronto Star Jack McCloskey, a consultant to the team who has been with Toronto since the Isiah Thomas era, will not be retained since he had such close ties to former general manager Rob Babcock and was also a steadfast supporter of the drafting of Rafael Araujo. Norm Goodman, who was the high school coach of former Raptor general manager Glen Grunwald and who has been a part-time scout for years, will be given his walking papers, while the likes of former European scout Steve Young and Mario Fournier, who did some scouting for Toronto in Europe, are also to be shown the door. Toronto Star Gene Keady is out as a Raptors assistant coach and there's every reason to expect it's just the first move in a front-office shakeup as president and general manager Bryan Colangelo puts his own stamp on the franchise. Keady was hired last mid-December as another set of veteran eyes to watch the wreckage that became the team's 27-55 season. His contract wasn't renewed when it ran out at season's end. Toronto Star Orlando & Minnesota: The Orlando Magic are expecting to lose assistant coach Randy Wittman, who will return to the Minnesota Timberwolves as an assistant, according to NBA sources. The Magic recently gave Wittman permission to speak with the Timberwolves, said Magic Coach Brian Hill. Orlando Sentinel The Magic are expected to replace Wittman, who, along with assistant Mark Bryant, worked with forward Dwight Howard. Minnesota is coached by Dwane Casey, who completed his first season as a head coach. Should Wittman join the Timberwolves staff, it could lead to a complete overhaul of the staff, which includes former Magic coach Johnny Davis. Orlando Sentinel Boston: Considering the Celtics' significant investment in their young big men, Doc Rivers is about to add a specialist to his staff who can develop the nascent skills of Al Jefferson, Kendrick Perkins and Dwayne Jones. Clifford Ray, a former center who enjoyed a 10-year career with the Bulls and Warriors during the 1970s, including Golden State’s 1975 NBA championship team, is close to signing a contract with the Celtics. Boston Herald Though the contracts of assistants Dave Wohl and Armond Hill are set to expire, Rivers said they’ll get new deals. Top assistant Tony Brown, like Rivers, has three years left on his contract. Ray also worked under Rivers in Orlando, where he received considerable credit for developing the Magic’s young big man, Dwight Howard, who is now one of the NBA’s top rebounders. Boston Herald Rivers, who plans to reassign assistants Paul Pressey and Jim Brewer to scouting positions within the organization, still plans to hire one more assistant, though unlike Ray, that coach won’t be a specialist. Boston Herald Seattle: Meanwhile, the Sonics are expected to announce today that assistant coach Detlef Schrempf is returning to coach Bob Hill’s staff. Schrempf had taken the role of assistant on a trial basis to determine if he wanted to pursue a coaching career long term. After spending half the season under Hill, Schrempf apparently has decided to continue. Tacoma News Tribune -- -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 58.62.104.17 ※ 編輯: amox 來自: 58.62.104.17 (05/20 14:59)
