Drew Gooden hoping to avoid hernia surgery
Drew Gooden hopes to avoid surgery for what is likely a sports hernia -- he
will need surgery if his pain intensifies after the All-Star break.
"If I play and it gets worse, and I go back to square one after two or three
games...then I'm going to have to have surgery," Gooden said. Owners might as
well hold on to him to see what happens, but this doesn't sound promising.
Now is certainly not the time to drop Joakim Noah or Tyrus Thomas.
