適應環境可能是台灣投手倪福德必須努力的目標，
歷經二十小時以上的飛行，他完成了從家鄉到佛羅里達的旅途，
這僅僅是他第二度來到美國。
他不太會講英文，因此有一位充當翻譯的朋友隨行。
當投手教練Rick Knapp見到他，上前與他握手寒暄時，
倪福德只能夠用「hello」這個英文單字。
