Reports out of Phoenix indicate that the Suns are trying to package Leandro
Barbosa in a draft-night trade with the Knicks. There are also rumors of a
trade to Portland for Martell Webster and the #13 pick.
Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni is a known admirer of LB, but the catch is the
length of Barbosa's contract -- it extends beyond 2010, which is when the
Knicks hope to have created salary space for elite free agents. The draft
takes place on Thursday, so we won't need to wait long to see if this pans
out.
