Whether Vince Carter has knee surgery or not, the new Suns guard appears he
is not ready to play Thursday against Miami.
不管Carter是否接受膝蓋手術，他都不會打對熱火的比賽。
Carter was learning plays and teammates at US Airways Center on Tuesday, a
day the Suns practiced for the new guys. Carter was slated to see a doctor
later about his left knee. He said swelling has returned after he injured it
and had "excruciating" pain Nov. 22, causing him to miss the ensuing three
games.
太陽很了解三位新同學，而Carter將會去向醫龍報到檢查他的左膝，他之前受傷的左膝又
開始腫脹了而且很難受，這個11月22照成的傷將會讓他錯過接下來的三場比賽。

"It still bothered me," Carter said. "I just tried to keep playing, being
hard-headed and not listening to your body. There's been some swelling. The
day of the trade is when I told them (Orlando) I wanted to get a MRI."

If Carter has the knee scoped, he could miss up to a month. Otherwise, he
could rest it a few games.

"I heal like a young guy, but we'll see what happens," Carter said.

Carter will turn 34 next month but no longer is his team's old man. Teammates
Grant Hill, 38, and Steve Nash, 36, are thriving with the help of a heralded
athletic training staff.

"They're playing great basketball, playing as good as anybody out there,"
Carter said. "That's definitely encouraging."

Numbers game
Pick a number from 0 and 99. It seems simple but Carter and fellow Suns
newcomers Marcin Gortat and Mickael Pietrus all had a trying time with
picking uniform numbers.

Carter almost always has been No. 15. That is Robin Lopez's number. He wore
Nos. 8 and 9 in national play but Channing Frye wears No. 8 and Dan Majerle
is in the Ring of Honor as No. 9. He said he thought about Nos. 1 (Josh
Childress), 5 (retired for Dick Van Arsdale) and 6 (Walter Davis' number in
the Ring of Honor). He settled on No. 25, his number for an All-Star Game.

Gortat was as married to No. 13, saying he considered not playing for his
Polish national team once if he could not have it.
Gortat是在13號結婚的，他說有一次他跟他國家隊說不給他這個號碼他就不打。
"Coming here, I couldn't say that," Gortat said of Nash's number.
Gortat settled on No. 4 to honor Sasha Obradovic, a former teammate and
coach.

Pietrus had worn No. 2 (Goran Dragic) and 20 (Garret Siler) in the NBA.
Pietrus則是想選Dragic的2和Siler的20。
"I tried to take No. 34 but I forgot about Charles Barkley," he said. "They
told me it was retired. I was like, 'How come?'
他說想要34，但是他忘了這是Barkley的號碼，所以工作人員跟他說這個退休了，我當時
想”為什麼？”
"Don't tell Charles."
別跟Barkley說阿。
Pietrus will wear No. 12.

Free throws
The Suns released center Earl Barron on Tuesday, putting the roster at the
13-man minimum. Phoenix still has six power forwards and centers. Barron,
signed Nov. 16, started in six of his 12 appearances and averaged 15.3
minutes, 3.0 points and 3.3 rebounds. He shot 23.5 percent from the field.
太陽釋出了Earl Barron，並且登入名單剩下13人。太陽仍然有6名PF和C。Barron是在11
月16簽的，他上場的12場比賽中先發6場，平均15.3分鐘有3分3.3籃板。但他的命中率只
有23.5。(難怪會被釋出)
Coach Alvin Gentry estimated the new players will know 25 percent of the
sets by Thursday's game but that much of the rest is predicated on reading
the defense.
Gentry估計新同學星期四時大概只能了解25%的戰術，在這段休息的時間裡他們將先了解
防守體系。
"We're not a very complicated team," he said.

Gortat has a plan for when he is out of place, saying, "If I'm going to mess
up something, there's nothing wrong with playing pick-and-roll with (Nash)

Pietrus said he is a better soccer player than Nash and told him so.

"He told me, 'We'll see,' and then my heartbeat started, 'beep-beep-beep,' "
Pietrus said.
Pietrus：他跟我說，我們會看到的，然後我的心臟會'beep-beep-beep'的跳著。
