And despite limited chances, Bender still made history by posting 11 points, 13 rebounds, three steals and two blocks in a Dec. 26 loss to the Houston Rockets. He projects as a viable three-point shooter with enough quickness to punish closeouts by any big and even plenty of wings. Can he be taught to actually try on the defensive glass? Can he cool off and avoid emotional outbursts that have produced seven technical fouls so far? Can he pay attention on D for two possessions in a row?
