High School: St. Benedict’s Prep (Newark, N.J.) An early entry candidate for the 2004 NBA Draft. Originally committed to play for North Carolina. Named Co-MVP of the 2004 McDonald's High School All-America game along with fellow draft prospect Dwight Howard. Named Co-MVP of the EA Sports Roundball Classic along with draft prospect Shaun Livingston. Began his career at Lakewood High School (N.J.) before transferring to St. Benedict's Prep, where he gained an extra year of eligibility to work on academics. Played for head coach Danny Hurley, who was a star at St. Anthony's (N.J.) and played college basketball at Seton Hall. High School Career Highlights: Named First Team All-State as a junior and senior. Named Second Team All-State as a sophomore and Third Team as a freshman.
