He went eight days in between his last two starts due to shoulder soreness. Padilla allowed one run on eight hits in six innings his last time out, but had to leave when he tried to barehand a one-hopper. The ball bruised his palm a little bit, but he's fine and should be good to go against the Twins. The right-hander is 3-2 lifetime against Minnesota with a 2.63 ERA. MIN: LHP Glen Perkins (4-5, 4.71 ERA) Perkins will seek a fresh start in the second half after a rough go in his final start before the All-Star break. The southpaw was roughed up by the White Sox on Saturday, surrendering five earned runs and eight hits over 4 1/3 innings, taking his fifth loss of the season. Tidbits Texas has won 18 of the 24 games Hamilton had started this season. ... Kevin Millwood has the fourth-lowest ERA (3.46) by a Texas starter in the first half of the season since 1994. ... The Rangers' 4.33 team ERA is the fourth-lowest mark a Texas staff has posted since 1991. ... Kinsler wasn't selected to replace Boston's Dustin Pedroia in the All-Star Game, as some thought he might. Rays first baseman Carlos Pena was chosen instead.
