Playing three seasons behind his cousin, Vince Carter, stunted his development. McGrady led the league in scoring in 2002-03 and 2003-04 before falling on hard times with management. McGrady was sent to the Rockets for Steve Francis in the summer of 2004. Misfortune has continued this season, with Yao suffering a knee injury that has cost him 14 games. When his back began acting up again in December, McGrady went to a therapist in Waco who specializes in dealing with back problems of elite athletes. Since returning, McGrady has scored 30 points or had double figures in assists in every game.
