The Wolves are one of several teams interested in trading for Clippers guard
Corey Maggette, who scored 21 points in their Wednesday victory over the
Wolves. Maggette's agent has asked the team to trade the seven-year veteran.
I was expecting a better story about why Kevin Garnett has remained in the
metro, given the Wolves' embarrassing season, his love of the Lynx
notwithstanding. In past years, K.G. has eschewed Minnesota this time of year
to be just another multimillionaire in Malibu. The imagination runs wild:
Something up with his wife, Brandi? "Why is he hanging around? To work out,"
said the Wolves' prez. "He's already working out every single day." So they
are putting weight on him? "Yeah. He is fired up," Wright said. "He's ready
to go again." Oh, Minnesotans are concerned that K.G.'s ready to go, all
right. Go, as in a trade. And when Minneapolis-area weights are the only ones
that will do, I think he's being fattened up for a trade, and I'm not alone.
