The Jazz only can hope to find a player with the ability, passion and competitiveness of Sloan, who broke into pro basketball with Baltimore, became an All-Star in Chicago and ended up coaching in Utah for nearly two decades. But is that possible? Rated by most scouts as the second-best point guard in the draft, Williams averaged 12.4 points and 6.8 assists last season, when Illinois lost to North Carolina in the national championship game. Williams will be the first of three Illini guards to be drafted, but will go well before former teammates Luther Head and Dee Brown - both considered late first-rounders. Williams has tremendous size and strength for his position, and he loves to pass the basketball. He shot 36.7 percent from the three-point line during his junior year at Illinois, and he showed a willingness to take big shots in crucial situations. The Blazers own the No. 3 pick, but they made a major commitment to rookie point guard Sebastian Telfair last season. If the Trail Blazers decide they don't want Paul or Deron Williams, they might be willing to move down for the right price. O'Connor's two first-rounders could be enough to get Portland's No. 3 pick. Last season, he averaged 8.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in only 19 minutes for Unicaja Malaga of the EuroLeage. Andriuskevicus (7-2) is the only true center of the group. His stock has slipped slightly in recent weeks, but the Jazz could look at him to groom behind 26-year-old Memo Okur. The Jazz looked at Splitter (6-11) last year, when he declared for the draft but withdrew when he realized he wasn't going to be a lottery pick. That could change this year. The Brazilian-born forward played for Tau, Spain, in the EuroLeague last season and averaged 6.1 points and 4.1 rebounds. He would like to see players not allowed into the league until they are even older. Still, the Jazz will apparently look at Green. "I'm a strong advocate of a 22-year age limit," Miller said. "But we have to do what the [existing] rules allow to become a better team. It would be foolish to stand on ideals and not do that."
