Fiorentina have been handed a one-match stadium ban as a result of crowd
disturbances at the Stadio Franchi.
The Italian disciplinary commission have enforced the suspension after
trouble marred the Tuscan derby against Empoli at the weekend.
Fiorentina, who are flying high in fourth place, had already been warned
about fans’ conduct following the heated Coppa Italia clash against Juventus.
The Viola will now have to play their match against Chievo on January 15 on
neutral ground – unless they successfully lodge an appeal.
