[傳聞] Viola close on Vanden Borre

Fiorentina are in pole position to sign defender Anthony Vanden Borre,
confirmed Anderlecht’s general manager.
The 19-year-old’s contract expires in 2010, but he could leave in advance
thanks to a clause in his deal, although the two clubs are yet to agree on
the financial terms.
Reports earlier this week had already suggested that Fiorentina officials had
met the Congo-born player to discuss terms over a three-year agreement, with
an option of a further two years.
“If we can agree on a fee of ￡2m to ￡2.5m there will be three winners -
Fiorentina, Vanden Borre and Anderlecht,” said Anderlecht general manager
Herman Van Holsbeeck.
Vanden Borre, who has been with the Belgian club since the age of eight,
recently attracted the interest of several European outfits, including
Juventus, Inter, Bayern Munich, Tottenham, and Levante.
The versatile defender was allegedly sighted in Florence on Wednesday,
fuelling speculation that he might be in town to complete his medical.
Fiorentina denied the news, but did confirm that conversations are underway
to negotiate the player’s arrival on the peninsula.
The Tuscan outfit recently completed their first signing for next season,
with Arsenal-owned forward Arturo Lupoli penning a five-year Bosman deal with
the Viola.
