Julio Sergio- 5.5: Made a hash of Jajalo’s long range effort to gift Simone
Vergassola the leveller shortly before the break.
Motta- 6.5: The youngster made good headway down the right in the first 30
minutes, dribbling past markers and testing the Robur’s organization at the
back.
Burdisso- 7: The Argentine twice threatened to score and put in an expert
performance at the back.
Juan- 7: A solid display at the back from the Brazilian. He kept his nerve as
Siena looked to threaten on the counter attack
Riise- 8: Made inroads down the left and always provided an option for his
team-mates. He has become a fan favourite at the Olimpico for his ability to
strike with such venom. Took his shot brilliantly to gift Roma an early lead.
De Rossi- 7.5: A true captains’ performance. He floated a wonderful ball
over the top for Riise on 20 minutes and ran the show in the middle of the
park for the Lupi.
Pizarro- 7: Kept things tight in the middle despite not carving out as much
as he would have liked going forward.
Brighi- 5: Not the best afternoon for the midfielder who was duly sacrificed
by coach Ranieri.
Perrotta- 6: The Italian didn’t get forward as much as he would have liked
but put in a disciplined display to limit Siena when they looked their most
threatening.
Taddei- 6.5: The former Siena man gave a decent account of himself but was
forced off shortly after the hour mark through injury.
Baptista- 6: ‘The Beast’ put in a generous performance up top but was often
left stranded in an unfavoured position. Looked more at home as he sat behind
Okaka following the youngster’s introduction.
Substitutes
Cerci- 6: Tried to make inroads down the right but couldn’t carve out any
real threats with a lack of support up top.
Okaka- 8.5: Stole the man-of-the-match award with a wonderful back heeled
effort late on to wave goodbye to the Curva Sud faithful in spectacular
fashion.
Pit- 6.5: Marked his late entry with an assist for Stefano Okaka’s match
winner.
SIENA
Curci- 8: The score could have been a lot worse if not for the Siena
glovesman. He would have fully merited the award for man-of-the-match had it
not been for Okaka’s late winner.
Rosi- 6.5: The former Roma man put in a determined performance in front of
the Olimpico faithful and created some decent crosses from the flank.
